Have you heard?  The Ohio Department of Education has expanded its Ohio Afterschool Child Enrichment (ACE) Program!

Under the new guidelines, parents and legal guardians of children ages 6 to 18 may qualify for a $1,000 educational savings account to be used to pay for services that provide their student with an academic opportunity to make up for a learning loss that occurred due to COVID-19.  Families must meet eligibility requirements for 1 of 3 criteria:

·       Their family’s household income is up to 400% of the Federal Poverty level (previously 300%)

·       Their family resides in a school district identified as experiencing high rates of chronic absenteeism or those operating schools designated as low-performing

·       Their family participates in income-based programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, and Ohio Works First

For almost 2 years, the Family Promise of Warren County Board of Directors has been working on a strategic plan to increase the number of families that we can serve each year. One way that other Family Promise affiliates have accomplished this goal is to add a static site shelter.
