October 15, 1997: Interfaith Hospitality Network of Warren County (IHNWC)
was officially founded as an Ohio not-for-profit corporation. IHNWC has been
and continues to be affiliated with the national organization of networks for
the homeless now known as "Family Promise."
IHNWC began serving guest families in October 1998. The organization began
as a single network of churches and volunteers, but the organization
recognized that the number of homeless families in Warren County exceeded
IHNWC's capacity. A second network was fully established and began
operating as a stand-alone network in July of 2004. The second network
enabled IHNWC to serve a total of 108 individuals that made up 43 families
compared to 24 families in the first full year of operation in 1999.
